Hello All,

Glad to find this site. I've had some success in the entertainment biz as a record producer (#1 CD in Japan, 3 more in top 7), and as an animator and magazine writer. I have about eight totally original (to me, at least) treatments begging to be put to paper, but, having been ripped off in the music industry, I'm wondering what is to prevent someone from reading a treatment I put up here, altering it somewhat, and then selling it?

I would imagine there is probably nothing that could be done to initially prevent this but I wonder if there is a thread herein that addresses what constitutes copyright infringements in this industry. In other words, how much altering would someone have to do to my script before they'd stand a good chance in court if I sued them?

Again, thanks for providing this site. I look forward to participating....

Eric

You bring up a good point lizardking. No matter what is done it is always very tough to guard against your original works being ripped off; it happens to people and companies every day. However, we do take that seriously here, so maybe you'd feel better after reviewing the guidelines I posted when the forum launched:

Hope that helps. Welcome to the forum!
